Rev Murray Cottle - Senior Pastor

Murray and Karen have been part of Northwest Baptist Church since February 2004. Murray's background includes working in microbiology and then as a Probation Officer before becoming a Pastor. He has served in three other churches.

They spent four years in the Solomon Islands training pastors and Murray was a Superintendent for Baptist churches in NZ for several years.

Murray's desire is to lead Northwest Baptist Church to become a dynamic, effective church which impacts and serves the community.

Murray and Karen have three children and four wonderful grandchildren. He enjoys sport of all kinds (and lives in hope that the Auckland Blues will do better!) and Karen is into crafts of many kinds.

Rev. Andrew Pound - Associate Pastor

Andrew is the Associate Pastor at Northwest, a position he has held since 1995. His main roles are Pastoral Care and Administration.

He trained as a primary school teacher at Waikato University, where he gained a B.Ed He taught at various schools, before completing a B.D at Baptist Theological College (now Carey College). He served five years as a sole-charge Pastor in Oamaru, then went on to become the Registrar of a Language Academy in Auckland, before joining the staff of the church.

He is married to Kay and they have four children, Julia, Jonathan, Joshua and Joanna.

Raewyn Moodie - Children's Ministry Coordinator

Raewyn Moodie has just taken up the position of Children's Ministry coordinator (part time). She has previously been on staff in this role and also as youth pastor and has been part of Northwest since 1989.

She is a fully trained primary school teacher and also teaches part time at Henderson North School as a music specialist.

She is married to Craig and has two children, Rachel and KJ.

Paul & Sarah Beisly - Youth Pastors

Paul and Sarah are the youth pastors at Northwest. Their main roles include coordinating a weekly youth programme and pastoral care for youth 13-25 years.

Paul is originally from Paeroa. He trained as a secondary school PE teacher and spent 2 years teaching at St Peters College.

Sarah has been a part of the Northwest family for 18 years. She completed a Bachelor of business studies and worked at ANZ mortgages for 2 years.

Paul and Sarah were married in July 2003. In January 2004, they both began their role at Northwest and their degree in Applied Theology at Carey Baptist College.
